Evergy is seeking an External Reporting Analyst to support SEC filings and financial reporting at our Kansas City HQ. The role requires strengthening GAAP knowledge, Excel proficiency, and experience with large accounting systems. Relevant SEC/public accounting background is preferred.

Responsibilities include timely SEC filings, consolidated financial statements, and applying new accounting guidance. Energy sector experience is a plus, with emphasis on accuracy under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 1+ years relevant experience in a complex accounting environment, SEC reporting, or public accounting including SEC and GAAP financial reporting preparation, research and compliance.
• Familiarity with large-scale integrated accounting systems; advanced Excel and Word skills.
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management, Workiva Wdesk and PeopleSoft preferred.

Responsabilités

• Ensure timely, complete, and accurate submission of assigned sections of 34 Act SEC filings.
• Prepare and implement consolidated financial statements timely and accurately.
• Prepare and apply new accounting regulations and assess applicability of existing regulations.
• Prepare assigned FERC pages timely and accurately.
• Prepare sections of consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosure in accordance with GAAP for non‑SEC registrant company.
