Job summary

CPS Energy is seeking a Manager of Financial Accounting & External Reporting to lead the preparation of external financial statements and related reports. This role drives GAAP and GASB compliance, coordinates annual audits, and oversees banking, debt, hedging and REAP accounting, ensuring timely, accurate filings.

The position requires strong leadership, analytical ability, and cross-functional collaboration to support regulatory and audit processes.

Qualifications

• Proficient in GAAP and GASB accounting principles.
• Experience with external financial reporting and audits.
• CPA or related financial certification preferred.
• Public accounting experience advantageous.
• Advanced knowledge of Workiva preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee external financial reporting monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Coordinate with auditors for annual audit and related procedures.
• Manage accounting for banking, debt, hedging, investments and REAP programs.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, FASB, FERC and other regs.
• Develop and mentor FAER staff; support tech changes.
