CenterPoint Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel to advise on securities law, SEC compliance, and corporate governance. The role partners with senior leadership, the Board, and Investor Relations to ensure accurate public disclosures and robust governance practices.

Based in Houston, TX, the attorney will support the Office of the Corporate Secretary, draft filings, reviews, and governance materials, and lead strategic legal initiatives across the company.

Formación

• Requires an undergraduate degree and a J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Significant experience with securities law compliance, SEC reporting, and corporate governance.
• Experience supporting Boards, governance processes, and shareholder meetings.

Responsabilidades

• Provide legal advice on securities laws, SEC compliance, and public company disclosures, including Form 10-K/10-Q/8-K filings.
• Review Exchange Act reporting requirements and governance documents; support Board processes.
• Assist with annual proxy statements, shareholder communications, and corporate transactions.
• Manage relationships with senior leadership, Accounting, Treasury, Investor Relations, and outside counsel.
• Develop standardized forms and procedures; stay updated on SEC developments.
