Job summary

McBride is seeking a qualified Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Senior Analyst to support warfare development through EDT assessment and adoption strategies. The role involves cataloguing EDTs, promoting experimentation, and coordinating input for strategic foresight, NDPP, and multinational solutions.

The candidate will educate HQ SACT staff on opportunities and risks and organize knowledge sharing between ACT, NATO, and national EDT stakeholders, while contributing to branch core tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information and communication technology or closely related scientific/engineering discipline and 4 years post-related experience.
• Two years' experience in the acquisition, assembly, and interpretation of research & technology information.
• Knowledge of S&T information sources in defense contexts (defense labs, academia, ministries).
• Experience interpreting future S&T/EDT information to assess military-adapted applications.
• Proficiency with PC office automation and internet research for information gathering.
• Ability to conduct analytical work on EDT documentation and identify adoption pathways.
• NATO Secret Security Clearance or national equivalent.
• English proficiency per STANAG 6001 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to identifying new Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDTs) and catalog existing EDTs.
• Assess EDT implications and adoption opportunities to support the Warfare Development Agenda.
• Promote experimentation of EDT-based solutions in realistic environments.
• Provide input to EDT activities within ACT S&T PoW to support foresight, NDPP, and multinational solutions.
• Influence and exploit EDTs addressing capability shortfalls and significant impacts on available capabilities.
• Coordinate EDT input to production and delivery of advice informing strategic foresight analyses and capability development.
• Identify capability shortfalls that could benefit from EDT adoption by analyzing NDPP products and lessons learned.
• Educate HQ SACT staff on EDT opportunities and risks.
• Organize and manage a knowledge base on EDT adoption across ACT, NATO, and national stakeholders.
• Serve in the Innovation Branch, supporting branch core tasks in science and technology.
