Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Hartford Service Center seeks a Lead Structures Technician to perform maintenance and structural sheet metal work on customer aircraft. You will troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and modify components, and assist with off-site maintenance and complex repairs as needed.

Applicants should have sheet metal aircraft training and 5+ years of related experience, with the ability to interpret drawings, use basic tools, and obtain GSE qualifications.

Qualifications

• Training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or equivalent
• 3+ years with corporate aircraft structural sheet metal repair/modification
• 5+ years in structural sheet metal repair/modification or related field
• Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
• Clear written and verbal communication about aircraft status
• Own a basic set of hand tools with inventory/control
• Ability to obtain Ground Support Equipment qualifications as required
• Able to work unscheduled overtime including holidays, and in seasonal weather
• SIDA badge if applicable
• A Certification, A&P Certificate or Repairman Certificate preferred
• Basic PC skills

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft
• Fabricate and/ or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts
• Perform minor structural repairs on composite components
• Assist in hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures
• Assist with complex structural repairs on or off aircraft
• Assist with aircraft component repair
• Remove / install aircraft components as required
• Comply with environmental health and safety procedures
• Perform work safely and in a timely manner
• Operate ground support equipment as required
• Assist with maintenance at off-site locations as needed
• Assist with towing aircraft as needed
• Adhere to Bombardier general work requirements
