Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Structures Technician - Day Shift at the Hartford Service Center to inspect, repair and modify aircraft structures. You will work under supervision to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in aircraft structural sheet metal repair, can interpret drawings, and own basic tools. This role may require OT, outdoor weather work, and potentially SIDA eligibility.

Qualifications

• Training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or equivalent schooling.
• Typically at least 3 years of aircraft structural sheet metal repair/modification experience.
• Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally about aircraft status.
• Own a basic set of hand tools and demonstrate inventory/control of tools.
• Ability to obtain Ground Support Equipment (GSE) qualifications as required.
• Able to work unscheduled overtime including holidays.
• Able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside.
• Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable.
• Basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft.
• Fabricate and modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
• Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached.
• Assist in conducting hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures.
• Assist with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft.
• Assist with aircraft component repair.
• Remove / install aircraft components as required.
• Comply with environmental health and safety policies/procedures.
• Participate in 5-S activities.
• Perform work in a safe and timely manner.
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
• Operate ground support equipment as required.
• Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations as needed.
• Assist with maintenance at off-site locations as needed.
• Assist with towing aircraft as needed.
• Assist with other maintenance disciplines as needed.
• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements for factory, shop and/or hanger positions
