Job summary

Bombardier in Windsor Locks, CT, is seeking an experienced aircraft sheet metal technician to repair and modify structural components on corporate aircraft. You will inspect, troubleshoot and perform maintenance per engineering drawings, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in structural sheet metal repair, own basic hand tools, and can obtain GSE qualifications and an SIDA badge if required.

Qualifications

• Tr aining from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or equivalent
• 3+ years working with corporate aircraft structural sheet metal repair/modification
• 5+ years of experience in structural sheet metal repair or related field
• Ability to interpret and work from mechanical drawings
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Own a basic set of hand tools
• Ability to obtain GSE qualifications as needed
• Willing to work overtime and outdoors in varying weather
• Ability to obtain SIDA badge if applicable
• A&P or Repairman certification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft
• Fabricate or modify structural components
• Perform minor repairs on composite components
• Assist in hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures
• Assist with complex structural repairs on/off aircraft
• Assist with aircraft component repair
• Remove/install aircraft components as required
• Adhere to safety policies and 5-S standards
• Operate ground support equipment as required
• Assist with maintenance at off-site locations as needed
