Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking an experienced aircraft maintenance professional for the Hartford Service Center. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining customer aircraft, with emphasis on sheet metal repairs and structural modifications.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of aviation structural sheet metal experience, the ability to read engineering drawings, and basic tool proficiency.

Qualifications

• You have training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or equivalent schooling.
• Typically at least 3 years of aircraft structural sheet metal repair/modification experience.
• Ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings and communicate status clearly.
• Own a basic set of hand tools and maintain inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft.
• Fabricate or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
• Perform minor structural repairs on composite components, attached or detached.
• Assist in hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures.
• Assist with complex structural repairs on or off aircraft.
• Assist with aircraft component repair and component removals/ installations.
• Adhere to environmental health and safety policies and procedures.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft
• Fabricate and or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts
• Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached
• Assist in conducting hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures
• Assist with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft
• Assist with aircraft component repair
• Remove / install aircraft components as required
• Comply with environmental health and safety policies/procedures
• Participate in 5-S activities Perform work in a safe and timely manner
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
• Operate ground support equipment as required
• Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations as needed
• Assist with maintenance at off-site locations as needed
• Assist with towing aircraft as needed
• Assist with other maintenance disciplines as needed
• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements for factory, shop and/or hanger positions

How to thrive in this role?

• You have received training from a sheet metal aircraft technical school or have equivalent schooling
• You typically have at least 3 years of aircraft structural sheet metal repair / modification experience
• You have the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
• You have the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
• You own a basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory and control of tools
• You have the ability to obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) qualifications as required
• You are able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays
• You are able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside
• You have the ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable
• You have basic PC skills
