Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Wichita, Kansas, is seeking an experienced engineer to design, analyze, and certify repairs for aircraft structures, collaborating with static stress and F&D teams to ensure airworthiness.

You will produce repair instructions, drawings and technical dispositions, supporting both airlines and internal customers on-site at our engineering facility. Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in engineering technology with focus on structural design/mechanics.
• Eight years of design experience with airframe structures.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Capable of applying repair/maintenance documentation (SRM, NTM, IPC).
• CATIA V5 and/or 3DExperience proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Create high quality integrated and certified repair solutions for airlines and internal customers within time scales.
• Review and interpret damage reports of aircraft structures and develop repair solutions.
• Create or modify Technical Communications, Technical Dispositions, Repair Instructions and Drawings.
• Collaborate with Static Stress, F&D and other Airbus departments to develop optimum solutions.
• Provide clear responses to repair queries and ensure airworthiness of repairs.
• Ensure tasks are completed to planned time scales and communicate status.
• Aim to obtain a technical signatory to approve repair data.
• Identify local improvements to increase team efficiency.
