Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. in Wichita, KS seeks a Senior Static Stress Engineer to support in-service repairs of aircraft structures and to certify repair solutions for the airline fleet.

You will perform static and FEA analyses, collaborating with Design, Fatigue and other Airbus departments to develop optimum repair concepts. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 3 years in aerospace structural design/analysis, with proficiency in Excel-VBA, Python, or JavaScript for

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in structural design, analysis, and mechanics of materials in aerospace.
• Experience with static analysis of airframe structures using hand methods, FEA, Bruhn and Niu.
• Experience designing and justifying complex repair solutions for aircraft structures; interpreting maintenance documentation like SRM/NTM/AMM/CMM/IPC.
• Programming in Excel-VBA, Python, or JavaScript to automate analyses.

Responsibilities

• Support in-service fleet repairs for aircraft structure.
• Create integrated and certified repair solutions for airlines and internal customers.
• Ensure final repair brings the aircraft back to airworthy condition.
• Collaborate with Design, Fatigue and other Airbus departments.
• Manage workflow for self and teammates; guide project completion.
