Job summary

Greenpoint Technologies seeks an experienced Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to create complex modifications for aircraft interiors and related mechanical systems, ensuring fit, form, and FAA compliance.

You will design system schematics, select materials, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to optimize for cost, quality, and manufacturability while meeting schedule and budget objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Aviation background and aircraft interior experience required.
• Strong CAD skills in 3D (Inventor) and 2D (AutoCAD); ability to check engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of FAA requirements and manufacturing methods; design-for-manufacturing.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Designs complex modifications of mechanical systems installations.
• Designs system schematics and architecture to meet requirements and function of system.
• Analyzes and interprets subsystem and project specifications.
• Selects materials for mechanical designs based on structural needs and materials specifications; coordinates with suppliers and testing.
• Optimizes designs with Manufacturing Engineers to reduce parts, costs, and errors.
• Understands Bills of Materials, assembly concepts, fabrication specifications.
• Ensures designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements.
• Adheres to budget and project schedules.
• Provides design guidance and mentorship to engineering personnel.
• Provides liaison engineering support.
• Supports aircraft testing preparation and test plan/report development.
• Maintains regular attendance; works full shifts.
