Job summary

Greenpoint Technologies in Washington state seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to create complex modifications for aircraft systems using CAD tools. The role requires strong knowledge of 3D/2D design, materials selection, and FAA-compliant processes.

You will analyze specifications, optimize designs for manufacturability and cost, mentor junior engineers, and support testing activities. 8+ years of aerospace experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; 8+ years relevant experience
• Proficient in CAD tools (Inventor, AutoCAD) for 3D/2D design
• Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems and FAA compliance
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with teams

Responsibilities

• Designs complex modifications of mechanical systems installations.
• Designs system schematics and architecture to meet requirements and function of system.
• Analyzes and interprets subsystem and project specifications.
• Selects materials for mechanical designs based on structural needs and materials specifications; collaborates with suppliers.
• Optimizes designs for reduced parts counts, manufacturing costs and assembly errors.
• Understands bills of materials, fabrication specifications.
• Ensures designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements.
• Adheres to budget and project schedules.
• Provides design guidance and mentorship to engineering personnel.
• Provides liaison engineering support.
• Supports aircraft testing preparation and test plan/report development.
