Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking a Senior Mass Properties Engineer for a 12-month contract in Greenville, TX. You will lead mass properties analyses, weight control activities, and reporting for major aircraft modifications using CAD tools and Excel.

The ideal candidate has an engineering degree with 9+ years of related experience (or 7+ with a graduate degree, or 13+ without a degree) and a DoD Secret clearance. Travel to the flight line is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics, or Physics and a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience.
Graduate Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mass properties, fixed-wing weight and balance analysis, and weight control for aircraft modification programs.
Experience leading complex technical tasks or project initiatives with minimal oversight.
DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead mass properties analyses, weight control activities, and report for major aircraft modifications using CAD tools, Microsoft Excel, and related engineering systems.
Calculate and estimate component weights, moment arms, and mass moments of inertia from drawings, CAD models, vendor data, and aircraft records.
Evaluate aircraft weight and balance impacts resulting from multiple concurrent modifications and develop aircraft mass distributions for loads development.
Establish and maintain weight control plans, target allocations, and status reporting for weight-critical programs.
Prepare aircraft weight charts, inventories, and engineering reports that document analytical results and actual weighings.
Lead mass properties tasks across several contracts and coordinate with design, structural, loads, manufacturing, flight test, and certification stakeholders.
