Job summary

WSP USA seeks an experienced Air Quality Project Manager to join our Environmental Team. Based in Columbus, OH preferred, but candidates from other US offices considered; you will lead air permitting, regulatory compliance, and atmospheric modeling for industrial and infrastructure clients nationwide.

You will manage scope, budget, schedule, and risks; mentor staff; and develop new business with key accounts. Strong experience with AERMOD/CALPUFF and regulatory agencies is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in air quality permitting, dispersion modeling, regulatory compliance, and environmental consulting.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, scope, schedule, budget, and profitability.
  • Strong expertise in PSD, NSR, Title V permitting, emissions inventories and compliance evaluations.
  • Advanced experience using AERMOD and CALPUFF.
  • Extensive experience with environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and mentoring staff.
  • Strong business development, proposal preparation, and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead air quality permitting, compliance, and modeling projects for industrial clients nationwide.
  • Manage project scope, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, resources, QA, and risk.
  • Serve as senior reviewer and SME for air quality analyses and permit applications.
  • Provide guidance on NSR, PSD, Title V and state permitting programs.
  • Act as primary client relationship manager for key accounts.
  • Lead business development, client engagement, and proposal development.
  • Collaborate with national and regional leadership on growth initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers, scientists, meteorologists, and PMs.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across lines for integrated solutions.
  • Represent WSP before regulatory agencies and professional associations.
