Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Environmental Air Quality Modeler to join our Environmental Team. The role focuses on complex air quality permitting, compliance, and modeling projects for a diverse portfolio of industrial clients across the United States, with a preference for Columbus, Ohio, but candidates from any U.S.

office may qualify. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in air dispersion modeling (AERMOD), NSR/PSD permitting, and regulatory analyses, plus solid project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as specified in the job posting.
• 5+ years of professional experience in air quality permitting and consulting.
• Proficient with air dispersion modeling and NSR/PSD permitting.
• Strong understanding of federal and state regulations and reporting requirements.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support air quality permitting, compliance, and regulatory projects for industrial clients.
• Prepare and review NSR, PSD, and other air permit applications.
• Conduct air dispersion modeling analyses using AERMOD and other applicable modeling platforms.
• Perform emissions calculations, emissions inventories, and air regulatory analyses.
• Prepare semi-annual, annual, and other regulatory compliance reports.
• Interpret federal, state, and local air quality regulations and provide strategic guidance to clients.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality environmental solutions.
• Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring technical excellence.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and trusted technical support.
• Support business development initiatives, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and identification of new project opportunities.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the continued growth and development of the Air Quality practice.
