Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices seeks a Lead System Validation Engineer for AI Rack Validation to drive validation across AMD EPYC Server and Instinct products. You will lead debugging from system to firmware, coordinate cross-functional teams, and shape validation strategy for scalable, reliable server platforms.

In this high-visibility role, you’ll mentor engineers, define metrics, and push for automated validation, telemetry, and data-driven quality improvements across global engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in validation roles involving debugging OS, FW, Silicon, and HW issues.
• Understanding of PCIe, CXL and related bus/software stacks.
• Strong knowledge of X86 architecture, SoC design, memory, RAS and power management.
• Extensive knowledge of system architecture, debug strategies, and validation planning.
• Experience in platform/system level debugging, OS, drivers and BIOS interactions.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to drive multiple work streams.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level, rack-level, and cluster-scale validation strategy for AI and ML server platforms.
• Define validation plans for deployment scenarios across scale-up and scale-out environments.
• Develop validation methodologies spanning CPU, GPU, memory, BIOS, BMC, networking, storage, OS and firmware.
• Collaborate with architecture, hardware, firmware, software and platform teams to close coverage gaps.
• Lead root-cause analysis of complex hardware, firmware, software, networking issues.
• Drive decisions to improve validation frameworks, automation, telemetry and data-driven workflows.
• Analyze large-scale validation data for reliability risks and readiness concerns.
• Mentor engineers and drive improvements in validation practices and tooling.
