Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. seeks a Lead System Debug Engineer – AI Rack Validation to drive system and silicon debug for EPYC Server & Instinct products.

You will lead debug efforts across silicon bring-up, validation, and production, partnering with engineering, OS, FW, and SoC teams to meet milestones. This senior role emphasizes scalable, automated debugging approaches, global collaboration, and delivering high-quality, market-leading technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering with 15+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience in validation roles involving debugging OS, FW, Silicon, and HW issues.
• Understanding of industry standard buses and their software stack, such as PCIe, CXL.
• Strong knowledge of X86 architecture, SoC design, memory, RAS & power management.
• Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
• Experience in platform/system level debug, OS, device drivers and System BIOS interactions.

Responsibilities

• Debug issues found during Silicon bring-up, Systems Validation, and production phases of SOC programs.
• Lead complex debug efforts for internal Silicon findings to identify root cause and resolution.
• Ensure issues are solved on time with quality.
• Manage and track technical issues, risks and priorities to un-gate program milestones.
• Publish debug program indicators to identify major roadblocks and drive changes to improve debug throughput.
• Manage customer and executive communications, including program status, risks and opportunities.
• Drive technical innovation to improve debugging capabilities across triage, tooling, and methodology.
• Work with multiple teams across global time zones.
