Job summary

Docker, Inc is seeking a senior Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate with customer teams, design and deploy production-grade AI-enabled solutions, and shape Docker's agentic AI stack. You will lead technical delivery, drive secure patterns, and mentor engineers in a remote-first environment with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience including customer-facing roles
• Proven technical leadership across engagements and domains
• Expert production coding skills in Go, Python, or TypeScript
• Deep Docker expertise: Dockerfiles, Docker Compose, registries
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agents in production
• Knowledge of software supply chain security and CI/CD security
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems (identity providers, Kubernetes, clouds)
• Excellent communication and collaboration with engineers, security, product, and execs
• Ability to scope and deliver complex work autonomously in remote-first teams
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to customer sites

Responsibilities

• Embed with customer engineering teams to design, build, and ship solutions from prototype to production
• Deliver artifacts and tooling for customer deployments and integrations
• Integrate Docker AI platform with customer stacks including identity, secrets, registries, and CI/CD
• Own delivery scope, sequencing, trade-offs, blockers, and code contributions
• Define and govern the agentic AI stack including MCP, prompts, and evaluation
• Partner with security and product teams to meet controls and performance thresholds
• Mentor and lead other engineers and participate in hiring
• Keep deep knowledge of the agentic AI stack and related tooling
• Occasional on-call rotation to support customers
• Shape the engagement model, standards, and quality across customers
