Job summary
Reuters, part of Thomson Reuters, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - AI on the CoCounsel Forward Deployed Engineering team.
In this role, you will design, build, and deploy bespoke AI solutions for law firms and corporate legal departments, turning architectural direction into robust, production-ready systems that legal professionals can trust.You'll work closely with AI architects, legal AI experts, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-impact solutions that shape how legal work
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering with system design and distributed systems.
- ≥2 years building AI/ML or LLM-powered apps in production.
- Strong Python backend and RESTful API development experience.
- Experience with LangChain/LangGraph, RAG architectures, and vector DBs.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-powered solutions for legal workflows.
- Build scalable, secure AI systems within established architectural frameworks.
- Develop multi-step agentic workflows using CoCounsel and third-party AI APIs.
- Add observability, evaluation, and quality controls for production AI systems.
- Collaborate with AI architects and engineers to deliver high-quality assets.
- Explore new AI techniques and interoperability standards to improve delivery.
