Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the AI Security team in a hybrid role based in Menlo Park, CA and Bellevue, WA. You will build the core AI platform, focus on secure identity and encryption, and partner with security and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure AI-powered security solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on platform development, strong distributed systems expertise, and shaping the architecture as the team grows. In-person attendance is expected 3 days a week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with security-oriented design.
• Experience building AI platforms, AI infrastructure, or production AI systems.
• Proficiency in Go or Python with strong debugging and production skills.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms and distributed tech (AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, Kafka).
• Strong security fundamentals integrated into production systems.
• Experience designing reusable platform capabilities and developer tooling.
• Proven track record delivering large engineering projects with impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a scalable AI platform for security teams to deploy AI-powered agents.
• Create platform services, APIs, libraries, and SDKs to integrate AI into security workflows.
• Design secure systems with identity, auth, encryption, and data protection controls.
• Develop and operate large-scale distributed systems for AI security use cases.
• Build platform capabilities and guardrails for safe AI agent operation.
• Collaborate with security and engineering teams to translate needs into reusable capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and security through automation.
• Help shape the technical direction of Robinhood’s AI Security platform as it grows.
