Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking an Expert AI Programmer to join Cyberpunk 2, building systems for believable open worlds and mentoring teammates. You will implement low-level AI, spawning, and systemic gameplay while collaborating with designers and other developers.

The role supports hybrid, in-office, or fully remote work across North America, with a pay range of 180,100 to 247,600 CAD per year. Health benefits and growth opportunities are part of the package.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience as a programmer in games
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine
• Experience with procedural content generation and systemic gameplay
• Experience with current-gen console hardware
• Experience developing AI systems in games
• Understanding of geometric algorithms and data structures
• Experience writing multithreaded systems
• Experience profiling and optimizing code
• Excellent communication with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Architect systems to populate open worlds and spawn dynamics
• Develop core systems for spawning, AI, and systemic gameplay
• Monitor and optimize performance and memory usage in open worlds
• Mentor team members and review technical proposals
• Develop debug and designer tools for non-deterministic gameplay
• Write high-quality, optimized, bug-free code
• Foster cross-functional collaboration across game systems
