Job summary

Axon seeks a Senior Software Engineer for its AI Platform to design, build, and scale Cortex, Axon's internal AI platform used by thousands of employees. You will own core services, integrate with Jira, Quip, Slack, M365, Snowflake, and other enterprise systems.

You will implement production-grade LLM and agentic workloads, collaborate with Enterprise Data teams, and help define best practices for secure, scalable AI experiences across Axon's cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience with cloud providers and cloud-native services.
• Strong web service fundamentals (APIs, authentication/authorization, observability, CI/CD).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate services that power Axon's internal AI platform (Cortex), including chat experiences, agents, and integrations with enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with Corporate AI, Data Engineering, and business teams to turn real workflows into secure, reliable AI-powered tools.
• Define patterns for deploying AI-driven applications across Axon's cloud environments.
• Ensure reliability, latency, and cost efficiency of AI workloads with telemetry and monitoring.
• Communicate design decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
