Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to build, operate, and govern the platforms powering our AI and automation capabilities. This is a hands-on, senior individual-contributor role spanning platform engineering, data and compute tiers, reliability, and governance across multiple enterprise AI platforms.

The ideal candidate owns deployment, hardening, and scaling of enterprise platforms, collaborates with Infrastructure, Security, and Identity teams, and drives platform standards, RBAC,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of platform or infrastructure engineering experience in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL administration — replication, HA, backup/restore, PITR, tuning.
• Redis with Sentinel or Cluster; persistence, eviction, queues.
• Strong Linux, Docker and container operations; Kubernetes a plus.
• Experience deploying and hardening enterprise platforms across environments.
• Scripting in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with Entra ID or Azure AD for SSO/OIDC and RBAC.
• CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Platform governance, security operations, and audit support.
• Excellent written communication for runbooks and design docs.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and operate enterprise AI/automation platforms across Dev/QA/UAT/Prod.
• Tune platforms for performance, capacity, and cost; plan upgrades with minimal outages.
• Integrate platforms with identity, secrets management, and source control; manage RBAC and credentials.
• Evaluate and onboard new platform capabilities into the supported estate.
• Engineer and operate PostgreSQL and Redis tiers with HA and DR planning.
• Design and implement HA/DR for platform data tier; validate backups and recovery.
• Instrument platforms with observability; build dashboards and runbooks; lead incident analysis.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows; automate routine platform operations.
• Define and enforce platform engineering standards, security controls, and governance.
