Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer, Applied AI (Customer Agent) in Boston to lead the Customer Agent product from 0 to 1 with startup tempo and the scale of a major tech company. You will stay hands-on while guiding architecture and product decisions for a production-grade agentic system.

You will own delivery, collaborate with product, design, data science and go-to-market teams, and advance evaluation, guardrails and reliability as a core product feature.

Qualifications

• Experience building production agentic AI systems from end to end.
• Hands-on coding and architecture decisions with launch-scale ownership.
• Ability to guide multiple teams through design reviews and technical trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Set technical and product direction for Customer Agent from architecture to production.
• Tackle the platform's hardest problems: orchestration, evals, guardrails, memory/context, self-healing and failure handling.
• Write and ship code, review designs, and make critical calls.
• Design frameworks adopted by other engineers and mentor through reviews.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science, and GTM leaders to shape the roadmap.
