Job summary

Klaviyos in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Applied AI (Customer Agent) to set technical direction for a production-grade, multi-tenant agent platform. You will own end-to-end architecture, evaluation, guardrails, and non-deterministic failure handling with startup-level speed and company-scale resources.

This is a principal-caliber, hands-on role where you write code, review designs, mentor teams, and drive a roadmap with product, design, and data science.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting, building, scaling and supporting production agentic systems end to end.
• Experience securing agents against misuse and scaling reliability for non-deterministic systems.
• Ability to set technical and product direction across an entire product area.
• Hands-on coding and design review, debugging production issues personally.

Responsibilities

• Set technical and product direction for Customer Agent's core platform from architecture through production.
• Tackle the platform's hardest technical problems: orchestration, evaluation, guardrails, memory/context, self-healing and failure handling.
• Write and ship code, review designs and make critical calls.
• Build reusable architecture and frameworks and mentor through design reviews.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science, and GTM to shape roadmaps.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and bring the best into production.
