Job summary

EY Challenger is seeking a senior platform architect to lead the AI platform strategy across cloud, hybrid, and edge environments. You will shape durable architectural patterns, define service tiers, and enable portable model access while balancing performance, cost, and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, align stakeholders, and drive the path from ideas to production with observable metrics and secure, scalable runtimes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Substantial experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, SRE, or platform capabilities.
Production AI workloads experience.
Record of building a shared platform adopted by multiple product teams.
Deep experience in at least one major cloud and portable hybrid/multi-cloud patterns.
Hands-on depth in orchestration, networking, identity, IaC, automation, APIs, observability.
Experience operating model-serving and AI lifecycle capabilities.
Ability to explain build-versus-buy decisions and outcomes.
Experience leading complex programs and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

Set the platform direction: own AI platform vision, reference architecture, roadmap, and standards across cloud, hybrid, and edge environments.
Run the platform as a product: define service tiers, prioritize roadmap, and measure adoption and time to value.
Enable portable model access: design gateways and stable contracts for model choice, routing, resilience, and controlled experimentation.
Architect elastic foundations: shape compute, storage, and network for AI workloads with cost-conscious design.
Automate the path to production: create repeatable delivery patterns with progressive release and evidence.
Define trusted agent runtimes: secure execution patterns for tools, identities, approvals, isolation, recovery, replay.
Engineer for reliability: set service objectives, observability standards, recovery patterns, resilience drills.
Make economics visible: connect usage, performance, and quality signals to improve unit economics.
Guide strategic choices: lead build-versus-buy and portability decisions with stakeholders.
Build capability: mentor engineers, strengthen architecture practices.
