Job summary

EY is building a better working world and Challenger Core develops the shared technology that powers our AI services. This role will own the AI platform vision across cloud, hybrid, and edge, balancing performance, cost, and resilience while staying close to code and telemetry.

You’ll lead a team of platform engineers and partner with product, security, and finance to deliver durable, reusable production patterns.

Qualifications

• Distributed systems and cloud-native architecture with good abstraction judgment.
• Knowledge of model serving, inference gateways, AI lifecycle automation, evaluation integration, and agent runtimes.
• Turn developer needs into intuitive self-service capabilities and adoption-focused roadmaps.
• Observability, SRE, performance, capacity, resilience, and incident learning.
• Security, policy, delivery assurance, and traceability built into architecture.
• Clear communication and alignment of executives and technical teams around trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Set the platform direction and own the AI platform vision across cloud, hybrid, and edge.
• Run the platform as a product with clear service tiers and adoption metrics.
• Enable portable model access with policy-aware routing and stable contracts.
• Architect elastic compute/storage/network foundations for AI workloads.
• Automate the path to production with repeatable delivery patterns and rollbacks.
• Define trusted agent runtimes with secure execution and replayability.
• Engineer for reliability with observable service objectives and resilience tests.
• Make economics visible by linking usage, performance, and quality signals.
• Guide build-versus-buy decisions with cross-functional partners.
• Build capability by mentoring engineers and promoting reusable production patterns.
