Job summary

EY is seeking a senior architect in a Challenger/Core role to shape enterprise AI knowledge foundations. You will own target architecture across knowledge, retrieval, and grounding capabilities for AI products and agents, guiding cross-functional teams through prototypes to production and ensuring scalable, compliant solutions.

This high-impact position requires 9–12+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and the ability to travel up to 50% while working in a hybrid office setting across EY

Qualifications

• Information architecture, domain modeling, ontologies, knowledge graphs.
• Retrieval, ranking, grounded generation, evaluation.
• Design reliable data pipelines and contracts across enterprise data and docs.
• Proven governance: provenance, quality, access, lifecycle controls.

Responsibilities

• Set the knowledge direction: own architecture, roadmap, and decision principles for knowledge and grounding in AI products.
• Design organizational memory with a federated approach and clear lifecycle expectations.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define concepts and relationships for AI interpretation.
• Engineer trusted ingestion, preserving authority, lineage, freshness, and licensing.
• Build effective retrieval using search, semantic, graph and structured methods with trade-offs visibility.
• Make evidence inspectable with citations, provenance, and quality signals for trust.
• Embed policy: ensure permitted use, retention, deletion with security and legal teams.
• Prove the architecture with lighthouse implementations from prototype to production.
• Operate and improve: define service objectives, observability, and quality measures.
• Build shared capability: reference components, onboarding, mentoring, and governance.
