Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking an AI Engineer IV to lead a team developing AI/ML solutions from concept to production. You will guide ideation, prototype new AI products, and ensure scalable, reliable AI infrastructure in a remote work setup.

You will mentor engineers, design robust data pipelines, and collaborate with leadership on AI strategy, governance, and data quality while delivering practical business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in CS, Statistics, Mathematics, or 2+ years in IT/analytics.
• Minimum 5 years of AI/ML deployment and maintenance experience.
• 6+ years developing deep learning models with TF, PyTorch, or similar.
• Experience with ethical AI, explainability, fairness, bias mitigation.
• 3+ years in Retrieval Augmented Generation or related prompt engineering.
• 4+ years productionizing AI with scalable data pipelines and monitoring.
• 5+ years in Agile-like teams and environments.
• Experience with CNNs, transformers, GANs, LSTMs, NODEs.
• Proficient in Python and libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, scikit-learn).

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML solutions from conception to production.
• Lead ideation, prototyping, and MVP validation of AI products.
• Design cloud architecture for large AI systems and data pipelines.
• Create low-latency APIs and services to deploy AI models.
• Monitor AI systems and ensure reliable performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
