Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking an AI Engineer IV to lead AI/ML initiatives from conception to production. You will mentor engineers, guide solutioning, and drive reliable AI infrastructure while staying abreast of cutting-edge AI research and practices.

This remote role from home involves collaborating across teams and stakeholders, designing scalable data pipelines, low-latency APIs, and governance practices to ensure value and responsible AI adoption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML systems.
• Experience building deep learning models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLX, or JAX.
• Productionizing AI models with scalable data pipelines and robust monitoring.
• At least 5 years in Agile-like teams and environments.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, microservices, containers, and distributed systems.
• Ability to articulate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and develop AI frameworks and systems for AI applications and products.
• Lead prototypes and MVPs to validate AI/ML solutions before large investments.
• Assist in designing cloud architecture for large multi-faceted AI systems.
• Design and scaffold robust data pipelines powering large AI systems.
• Develop low-latency APIs and services to deploy AI models.
• Develop monitoring for AI systems to ensure reliable performance.
• Guide AI engineers on best practices and governance.
• Document team procedures and roadmaps.
