Job summary

Navan is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI on the Loyalty Wallet team to build agentic product experiences that understand loyalty programs and surface actionable insights. You will design AI-powered workflows, integrate across frontend, backend, and AI orchestration layers, and ship measurable customer experiences while maintaining safety, observability, and quality through tests and tooling.

Qualifications

6+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
Experience with AI, LLMs, agents, workflows, or ML-powered products.
Strong TS/Node.js, Java, Python or similar stacks.
Experience with distributed systems, APIs, async workflows, caching, observability, and production debugging.
Knowledge of AI safety patterns including guardrails and HITL.

Responsibilities

Design and develop agentic workflows to help users view and manage loyalty programs through chats, wallets, and personalized recommendations.
Build production AI systems with LLM-powered flows, tool calling, guardrails, and monitoring.
Own agent and workflow quality through tests, evals, and metrics for safe handling of loyalty data and PII.
Integrate across frontend, backend, and AI orchestration layers including wallet APIs and streaming chat.
Turn data into personalization by transforming loyalty balances, tier progress, and trip context into actions.
Collaborate with product, design, backend, data, and platform teams to ship measurable customer experiences.
Raise engineering bar with maintainable code, tests, observability, and documentation.
