Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an AI Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, validate, and operationalize AI-enabled solutions across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, data science, risk, architecture, and product teams to turn business needs into secure, scalable capabilities. The role requires deep experience in AI/ML, NLP, and model governance, with a track record of delivering production-ready solutions in regulated enterprises.

Qualifications

• 15+ years delivering data science, software engineering, analytics, automation, or related tech solutions.
• 7+ years applying AI/ML, NLP, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or quantitative methods to enterprise problems.
• Strong Python programming skills with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers, Gensim, or equivalent.
• Experience with end-to-end model lifecycle including ideation, data prep, training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and governance documentation.
• Experience developing NLP, text analytics, embeddings, classification, or predictive modeling solutions.
• Experience creating model documentation, validation evidence, and governance artifacts in a large enterprise.
• Working knowledge of APIs, data pipelines, SQL, dashboards, CI/CD, observability, and production support practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain model behavior and risks to technical and exec audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, validate, and deploy AI/ML-enabled capabilities for infrastructure reliability and enterprise decision-making.
• Apply NLP, statistical modeling, supervised/unsupervised learning, embeddings, classification, and forecasting to complex enterprise data.
• Build reusable models, data pipelines, APIs, dashboards, and integration patterns across domains.
• Support the full model lifecycle from use-case intake to deployment and remediation planning.
• Communicate technical findings and tradeoffs clearly to engineers, governance partners, and leadership.
