Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a data engineering lead to oversee design, governance, and continuous improvement of data and knowledge foundations for AI-enabled workflows. You will work across structured and unstructured data to ensure trusted AI assets, with senior leadership in standards and guardrails for data and metadata management.

You will partner with product SMEs to translate domain knowledge into reusable, scalable data solutions and lead cross-domain initiatives to improve data quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with demonstrated leadership in enterprise data platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Deep expertise in data integration, pipeline development, and large-scale data processing
• Strong experience implementing data quality frameworks and automated validation
• Advanced knowledge of data modeling, metadata, and lifecycle management
• Experience with data governance, lineage, and control frameworks
• Strong understanding of AI/ML data requirements and data readiness practices
• Proven ability to design solutions for scalable, high-performance analytics platforms

Responsibilities

• Assembles large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring cross-system consistency.
• Mantains, improves, cleans, and manipulates large data for operational and analytics systems; builds data transformation pipelines.
• Collaborates with development teams to ensure data architecture feasibility and aligns with requirements.
• Defines and builds data pipelines to enable data-informed decision making and reliable releases.
• Contributes to test suites and leads triage of issues discovered in testing.
• Leads gaps analysis in data governance and drives plans to close those gaps.
• Mentors Data Engineers in CI/CD delivery and defines performance KPIs and controls.
• Leads design and improvement of data and knowledge assets for AI-enabled work across Network Services.
