Job summary

Tesla AI Hardware is seeking a Sr. ASIC RTL Design Engineer to advance AI inference chips, including Dojo, training neural networks, and supporting FSD and Optimus robotics. The role focuses on high-performance, power-efficient RTL design for accelerator, memory, and network subsystems.

Collaborate with architecture, verification and software teams to meet strict project targets while balancing performance, power, safety and cost considerations. On-site work in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with IEEE floating point is a plus.
• Experience with RTL design across SoC, CPU, and GPU.

Responsibilities

• Implement and document microarchitecture specifications.
• Define system-level functional requirements.
• Deliver high-quality RTL design to meet project targets.
• Design RTL for accelerators, memory, and network subsystems.
• Collaborate with architecture and software teams to achieve design goals.
• Balance performance, power, safety, and cost requirements.
• Conduct design trade-offs among functional, physical, and performance requirements.
• Work with cross-functional teams including implementation, verification, and performance engineers.
• Design for synthesis.
