Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC (SSG) is seeking an experienced requirements professional for a fully remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs program. The candidate will lead requirements capture for software projects, collaborate across IT and leadership, and manage the product backlog with SAFe-aligned practices.

Required 10 years of professional experience, Master’s in Engineering, and strong communication skills. Public Trust clearance or eligibility is preferred; U.S.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software development and SAFe/Agile methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, customer service, and problem solving.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Expertise with JIRA tools.
• Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform Agile requirement management.
• Elaborate user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and specifications.
• Work with customers and stakeholders to gather and document requirements across domains.
• Develop and prioritize backlog items, stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Use JIRA for requirements management, testing, and defect management.
