Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a Service Coordinator for the Westgate Towers Apartments housing program. This full-time role focuses on service provision and housing retention for seniors and disabled residents, with trauma-informed care and related practices. The position includes community outreach, needs assessments, and collaboration with care teams.

You will maintain records, coordinate services, and help residents access benefits while ensuring equity and housing stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a closely related field or related experience.
• At minimum, one full year of working with senior citizens and/or people with disabilities.
• Willing to obtain first aid, AED and CPR certifications and keep current.
• Criminal and civil background checks within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient in using Windows and databases.

Responsibilities

• Ensures resident voice is heard and incorporated into programming.
• Accepts referrals from the Community Administrator, families, providers, and residents.
• Assess services needed by residents through surveys, visits, and meetings; collect information.
• Provide services via trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and motivational interviewing modalities.
• Coordinate services to residents ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness; advocate for residents.
• Maintain records on residents and service providers; document interactions.
• Develop and facilitate support groups and workshops; assist with relocations as needed.
