Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in the United States East Hartford is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer to join the Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Fan Blades and Static Hardware team within Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO).

In this role, you will lead structural assessments, resolve technical and quality challenges, improve hardware producibility, and mentor internal and outsourced engineers to meet delivery and engineering performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in structural analysis and production support.

Responsibilities

• Lead production support activities including critical quality issues, supplier transitions, Class II engineering changes and producibility improvements to support delivery targets.
• Perform structural assessments using hand calculations, finite element modeling, engineering standard work, analytical tools and sound engineering judgment with minimal oversight.
• Provide technical mentorship and review structural analyses to strengthen team capabilities and promote engineering safety and best practices.
• Oversee outsourced engineering teams and review deliverables to ensure technical quality, accuracy and compliance with engineering requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and strategic engineering initiatives to enhance cold-section hardware producibility and alignment with ESTO values.
