Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Structural Analyst to perform detailed hand calculations and FEM analyses on primary and secondary aerospace structures for production support. You will drive resolution of manufacturing nonconformances and document stress analyses to release drawings and documents.

You will guide design engineers and junior analysts, applying knowledge of materials and structural analysis methods to complex metallic and composite structures on the New Glenn program.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Experience with analyzing / dispositioning non-conformances.
• Hand calculations including free-body diagrams for load derivation.
• Knowledge of materials and their applications to achieve optimal structures.
• Experience with classical and aerospace analysis methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, Blodgett, Mark’s Shigley).

Responsibilities

• Detailed hand calc and FEM analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures for production support and sustainment initiatives.
• Drive hardware discrepancies to resolution including dispositioning of manufacturing nonconformances.
• Documentation of stress analysis to support release of engineering drawings / documents.
• Deep understanding of repair methods and analytical practices for metallic and composite structures.
• Provide structural analysis guidance to design engineers and junior structural analysts.
