Ursa Major is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer in Colorado to ensure propulsion systems meet stringent safety standards. You will analyze safety requirements, coordinate with regulators, and lead safety programs throughout development and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant Systems/Safety Engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government-issued security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hardware schematics for fault tolerance, hazards, and safety compliance.
• Maintain and evolve ESMP (Explosive Safety Management Program).
• Review test procedures and operations to implement safety controls.
• Collaborate across engineering to embed safety throughout the lifecycle.
• Coordinate with management and regulators from initiation to decommissioning.
• Oversee EHS training program and explosives training per requirements.
• Lead safety design assessments and program safety briefs.
