Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to ensure propulsion systems meet rigorous safety and reliability standards. You will analyze hardware and electrical schematics, maintain ESMP, and collaborate across teams to embed safety throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include coordinating with program management, regulators, and vendors, leading safety program design and reviews, and generating Safety Assessment Reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years in Systems/Safety Engineering; Master’s may reduce required experience.
• Experience in System Safety, Systems Engineering, Explosive Safety, or related disciplines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hardware, schematics for fault tolerance and hazards.
• Maintain Ursa Explosive Safety Management Program (ESMP).
• Review test procedures and maintenance protocols for safety controls.
