Job summary

University of Louisville is seeking an Admissions Counselor III within the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science to recruit students across programs from BSW to PhD. You will attend events, follow up on leads, assist applicants with applications, and transfer them to the appropriate program for admission decisions.

The role requires significant travel within-state and occasional evenings/weekends, with a strong emphasis on outreach, evaluating applications, and coordinating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in higher education recruitment and admissions.
• Proven clear and efficient written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies for use within and outside of the university.
• Advise students on admissions procedures via in-person, phone, and email interactions; review materials prior to transfer to programs.
• Assist with processing Kent program applications as needed.
• Develop and review marketing materials and collaborate with marketing offices.
• Create and maintain recruitment databases and prepare reports on prospective students and applications.
• Assist with Orientation and create/update new student welcome materials.
• Lead information sessions for prospective students and attend recruitment events/career fairs.
• Manage communications across the recruitment and admissions team related to admissions status.
