Job summary

Oscar Health, Inc. is hiring an Associate Director, Actuarial to lead a team of actuaries and own pricing for ACA markets. You will review results, quantify risks, and collaborate with Finance, Market P&L, and Product Development, reporting to the VP, Actuarial.

This is a fully remote role for US residents (excluding specified states). Pay ranges by location: $180,504–$236,912 in CA/NY/NJ/WA; $162,454–$213,220 in all other states, plus benefits and annual performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or 4 years commensurate experience.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or actively pursuing exams to attain fellowship.
• 7+ years of actuarial and/or quantitative analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Own financial estimates and forecasts; communicate findings and actuarial recommendations to senior management.
• Lead team initiatives to enhance actuarial models and methodologies.
• Oversee the end-to-end actuarial pricing processes within a specific portfolio or sub-portfolio.
• Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders to guide strategic business decisions with respect to rates.
• Understand key financial risks and opportunities within the portfolio and across Oscar's business, applying learnings to pricing strategy and SAE considerations.
• Provide an actuarial viewpoint across cross-functional teams as we grow in new markets and business lines.
• Mentor, coach, and provide actuarial team members with regular feedback.
• Lead and shape Oscar actuarial best practices with automation and documentation.
• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
