Job summary

Oscar Health is seeking an Associate Director, Actuarial to lead and mentor a team of actuaries focused on pricing ACA markets. The role reports to the VP, Actuarial and collaborates with Finance, Market P&L, and Product Development.

The position is fully remote for candidates in the U.S. (excluding certain states). Base pay ranges by location with bonuses and benefits, including unlimited vacation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
• SOA Fellowship status or actively pursuing exams.
• 7+ years actuarial or quantitative analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Own financial estimates and forecasts; communicate findings and actuarial recommendations to senior management.
• Lead team initiatives to enhance actuarial models and methodologies.
• Oversee end-to-end actuarial pricing processes within a specific portfolio or sub-portfolio.
• Influence and collaborate with stakeholders to guide rate-related decisions.
• Understand financial risks and opportunities; apply learnings to pricing strategies.
• Provide actuarial input across cross-functional teams as we grow.
• Mentor and develop actuarial staff with regular feedback.
• Lead best practices with automation and documentation.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
