Job summary

Blue Cross NC seeks a Principal Actuarial Data Systems Analyst to deliver technical data support and innovative financial data solutions for actuarial systems and data marts. You will lead requirements gathering and develop solutions for accurate financial data across Plan divisions.

You will oversee the full development life cycle, perform monthly data refreshes and QA checks, maintain data marts, coordinate across vendors and departments, and mentor peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required; 8+ years in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 10+ years of related experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Develop data solutions, extracts, reports, data marts, and analyses for actuarial data systems.
• Perform monthly data refreshes and QA checks to support executive financial reporting.
• Maintain and optimize actuarial systems data marts.
• Lead in defining data definitions, file structures, and business rules with stakeholders.
• Analyze business challenges, develop recommendations, and implement solutions.
• Coordinate vendor and interdepartmental relationships to ensure data accuracy.
• Ensure auditable, snapshot-able financial detail data for audits.
• Provide analytical support for projects to meet business goals.
• Lead in developing data solutions, review specs, and support UAT.
• Mentor peers and train junior staff; provide technical leadership.
• Serve as liaison with business areas during development.
• Provide detailed configuration and communication to customers.
