Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Principal Actuarial Data Systems Analyst to lead complex data solutions for actuarial financial data systems and marts. You will direct data definitions, technical structures, and business rules across multiple application areas, while coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure accurate, auditable financial data.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in related fields.
• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required; in lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience accepted.
• Strong SQL development and data analysis skills.
• Experience with medical claims, Pharmacy data, or related health data preferred; leading projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex decision-support data solutions, data extracts, reports, data marts, and/or analysis across the full development life cycle.
• Perform monthly data refreshes, validations, automations, and QA checks for executive financial reporting.
• Lead maintenance and optimization of Actuarial Systems Data Marts and serve as the data lead for multiple application areas.
• Analyze business challenges, develop and implement solutions, and communicate actions and impacts to stakeholders.
• Establish vendor and interdepartmental relationships to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure auditable, snapshot-based granular financial data for quarterly and year-end audits.
