Job summary

David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Associate to join the Accounting team in our Houston office near 610 & Katy Freeway. The role involves processing checks, electronic payments, invoice entry with PO matching in JDE, and daily bank reporting.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of AP experience, strong Excel skills, and solid analytical and communication abilities. A team-focused, detail-oriented self-starter will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Accounts Payable or equivalent accounting experience.
• Microsoft Excel experience and proficiency.
• Ability to manage time and work effectively with high transactional volume.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Self-starter, adaptable, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good listener, able to resolve customer/vendor issues.
• High level of integrity, energy and organization.
• Team player with a positive, 'willing to do whatever it takes' attitude.

Responsibilities

• Process checks and electronic payments including printing checks and back charge/return reports.
• Verify checks through bank system; stop payments, void and reissue checks.
• Run Positive Pay reports and submit to the bank daily.
• Review and process credit card transactions and electronic expense reports.
• Respond to internal and external customers questions.
• Review and enter invoices with PO match in JDE and GAAP processing.
• Run SubPay and GAAP processes.
• Participate in reconciliations, research, cleanup and 1099/tax cleanup.
