Job summary

Islands Restaurants LLC is seeking a senior accounting & payroll leader to manage month-end close, reporting, and controls for a multi-state restaurant operation. You will partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasts, and audits, ensuring GAAP compliance and timely financial deliverables.

The role covers accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and process improvements across locations with a hands-on approach and collaboration with operations, HR, and IT. Hybrid work from Carlsbad office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with full monthly close ownership.
• Experience with GAAP/internal controls and audits; multi-state payroll knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, financial statement prep, and reconciliations.
• Produce monthly management reports at restaurant and consolidated levels.
• Oversee accounts payable, cash accounting, and fixed assets.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls across locations.
• Lead audits with outside auditors and tax accountants; coordinate annual audit.
• Manage multi-state sales, use, property, and payroll tax compliance.
