Job summary

Acme Ventures LLC in Santa Barbara, CA, seeks an Accounting Manager to own full-cycle accounting across a restaurant portfolio, supervising the Payroll & Accounting Coordinator and part-time Clerks, and leading the Month-End Close.

You will manage AP/AR, fixed assets, and sales tax compliance, while developing SOPs and refining workflows. Strong ERP and Excel skills, plus 3–5+ years in accounting and supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience; multi-unit, restaurant, or hospitality preferred.
• Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems, POS, Excel, and familiarity with AI tools.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Adaptable and resourceful in a dynamic environment and able to create processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Month-End Close process end-to-end with the close calendar and entries.
• Daily maintenance of Accounts Payable software and timely processing.
• Monthly Accounts Receivable management and reconciliations.
• Ensure Sales Tax compliance across jurisdictions, including filing and payment.
• Directly supervise the Payroll & Accounting Coordinator and all clerks.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and close package for Controller.
• Review payroll accruals and related journal entries each close period.
• Review recurring balance sheet schedules and entries with Controller.
• Own and maintain SOPs for AP, AR, and clerk tasks; support training.
• Assist onboarding and training of new part-time Accounting Clerks.
• Identify gaps/risks and implement appropriate solutions.
• Assist with intercompany accounting as needed.
