Job summary

CLA is seeking a Senior – Accounting Methods to join our Federal Tax Strategies team in Tampa, Florida. You will consult on accounting methods changes, conduct researched tax issues, and collaborate on client projects across the firm.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, have 2 years of relevant experience, CPA exam eligibility preferred, and proficiency with Office. CLA offers growth, flexibility and a collaborative culture with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred.
• Experience in accounting methods preferred.
• Experience in business services, public accounting or consulting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Access.

Responsibilities

• Consult on accounting methods changes including automatic and non‑automatic accounting methods changes including overall methods, revenue & expense recognition, inventory, capitalization, cost recovery and accounting periods.
• Conduct research related to accounting methods tax issues to maintain and expand your knowledge base.
• Participate and collaborate in accounting methods projects, including client interviews, reviewing client data, preparing calculations, analysis, and preparing supporting tax form filings.
• Collaborate with managers, directors and principals, including industry leaders and other marketing and business personnel throughout the Firm.
• Coach or mentor staff to assist with enhancing their skills and further developing their career.
• Demonstrate ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously in an effective and reliable manner.
