Job summary

CLA is seeking a Senior – Accounting Methods to join the Federal Tax Strategies team. The role focuses on accounting methods, tax strategy timing, and supporting filings while delivering client-ready analyses.

You will consult on accounting methods changes, perform research, and collaborate with senior leaders across projects, mentoring staff and ensuring timely delivery in a dynamic professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 2 years of relevant experience required
• Eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred
• Experience in business services, public accounting or consulting preferred
• Experience in accounting methods preferred
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Access preferred

Responsibilities

• Consult on accounting methods-related issues including automatic and non-automatic accounting methods changes including overall methods, revenue & expense recognition, inventory, capitalization, cost recovery and accounting periods.
• Conduct research related to accounting methods tax issues to maintain and expand your knowledge base.
• Participate and collaborate in accounting methods projects, including client interviews, reviewing client data, preparing calculations, analysis, and preparing supporting tax form filings.
• Collaborate with managers, directors and principals, including industry leaders and other marketing and business personnel throughout the Firm.
• Coach or mentor staff to assist with enhancing their skills and further developing their career.
• Demonstrate ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously in an effective and reliable manner.
